Dressed canines will be held on Saturday, October 27th at the “Howl-O-Ween” of the Alexandria Animal Welfare Alliance (AWLA) annual dogwear competition.

This is the second year of the event, which will be held at the Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza&Tap in Alexandria on the weekend afternoon to connect with animal lovers of all ages.

“Howl-O-Ween is one of the most interesting and festive ways we have to connect with pets and their human counterparts,” said AWLA Executive Director Megan Weber.

“The event itself may not be completely weird, but we think participants will have a good time to bark!”

Time: Saturday, October 27, 2 pm to 4 pm

Location: Lena’s Wood Fired Pizza&Tap, 401 E. Braddock Rd. , Alexandria, VA 22301

Dressed dog entrants can be used as a separate act or a subject group with up to three dogs and one handler. The premium registration fee is $25, one entry service (individual or group, including one person) and $10 participation. Children under the age of 12 can join for free. All registrations include 10 free tickets that participants can use to vote for their favorite clothing dog, while the top three costume entrants will receive prizes from Alexandria Restaurant Partners.

Howl-O-Ween will also launch the AWLA 2019 photo calendar, which includes Crandon, our 2019 annual animal, and nearly 150 animals participating in the photography competition.

The 2019 calendar will have a new look and a more stylish, more convenient size, including more full-page photos of top voting recipients.

Participants can purchase a $20 calendar for $15 or $2, and calendar participants who participate in the event can receive a free calendar at the event.

Reservations can be purchased at AWLA, 4101 Eisenhower Avenue, Arizona for $15 or 2 calendars. It starts on Monday, October 29.

Located at 401 E. Braddock Rd. Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza&Tap will donate 15% of active food and beverage sales to AWLA and dog snacks and water for all dog entrants.
